Why I have invested £30k in an office renovation during a pandemic

Many businesses up and down the country are forced to WFH right now. And to many, it’s a ‘bunker down and crack on’ period while offices stay dusty. But at Evergreen are we ever known for standing still? No.

So here I am, seven weeks into the new year, unveiling what we have been doing at the office HQ in Stratton Audley over the past four months! We have been working with the wonderful team and office refurbishment experts at Meridian Interiors to completely revamp our workspace to make it collaborative, stylish and functional for our growing team and four departments.

So why have I invested £30k in an office renovation during a pandemic?

There is much talk in the business world right now about WFH becoming the new normal post-covid and how offices are no longer viable and not what employees supposedly want.

Not for us though, I LOVE what you get from an office, and I’ve asked my team what they want when returning to workplaces is allowed, and they’re all eager to get back into this new Evergreen designed office – and probably the mini fridge too I imagine

We will continue to offer home-working options to suit our teams lives, but we will always encourage everyone to be in the office at least 2-3 times a week as it’s invaluable to building a strong team bond and company culture in my opinion.

This is what WFH is missing for us:

✅ Team spirit

✅ Ease of communication

✅ Team culture

✅ Fun and laughs

These things and so much more are far easier to have in an office environment than with a whole team working from home indefinitely.

I look forward to welcoming my team, clients and peers into this new space once it is safe to do so; hopefully by summer and in the mean time I thought I’d bring you all on a virtual turn of our new beautiful office, come on in and see our agencies new home:
