In the News This Week
So, how was your weekend? The weather’s certainly seeming quite spring-like now, isn’t it? We managed to get out and about and enjoy a much-needed spot of fresh air, which has got us more than raring to go for the rest of the week. What about you?
Here in the The Evergreen Agency office in our Bicester-based premises, we’re as busy as ever. Our latest recruits are settling right in and we’ve barely looked up from our keyboards over the last few weeks. It’s all part of our ongoing quest to boost the traffic to our clients’ websites, though.
So, how can you impact the traffic on your own site? As ever, we’re bringing you our weekly rundown of some of the very best SEO updates over the past seven days. Grab a cuppa and read on…
We’ll start with this blog by Roy Hinkis of the Moz site. The article, ‘Why Now, More Than Ever, SEO is Not Just About Google’ lifts the lid on search engine optimisation best practice and discusses how most SEO experts invest all their time and energy into one search engine. Discover why, in doing this, it could mean you’re limiting your approach; simply click the link above and swat up – it’s enlightening.
Oh, and while you’re over on the Moz site, you won’t want to miss Rand Fishkin’s weekly insight via his usual Whiteboard Friday post and video. This week’s instalment focuses on ‘how to make the search engine optimisation case to small businesses’ – something which makes up the majority of our roles here at The Evergreen Agency.
The fact is, without good SEO, you may as well be wasting your time on that cleverly-crafted content and beautifully-designed website. Instead, chat to us today about how you can ensure your efforts don’t go unnoticed. While you’re having a scout around our site, don’t forget to take a peek at some of our past blogs; there’s all sorts of useful – and completely free – information buried in our archives, so make sure you make the most of it.
Hopping on over to Search Engine Journal now, we thought you might like to read this. It’s the site’s latest blog and it looks at Google AMP and how it might affect SEO. If you’re wondering what AMP is, the blog explains more. In short, though, when you search for a news search term, Google will show you a carousel which highlights stories on all AMP-enabled websites. Sounds pretty useful, doesn’t it? Click the link above to learn more – and don’t forget to let us know your thoughts, as ever, by commenting on this blog.
We’re moseying on over to Blog Tyrant now and the reason is this: to remind you, if you haven’t already, to check out the recent post on blogging. If you’ve recently set up a company blog, you’ll get a lot out of this article, which answers over 100 questions about setting up and making your mark via your own corner of the Internet.
On the subject of blogging, find some time to check out HubSpot’s piece on one particular company’s blogging strategy and how it increased lead flow by a staggering 700%! We’re pretty sure you’d like a piece of that when it comes to your own blogs, so make sure you head over there to pick up some handy hints and tips.
One interesting piece of info to come from the piece is this: 16% to 20% of searches people ask in Google have never been searched for before. We’ll leave you with that, as surely it’s worth something when you’re planning your content for the week ahead?
Until next time…
