Also on the Search Engine Land blog is this piece: an ultimate guide to SEO-friendly URLs. Oh and because we bet you’d prefer to take in your information in picture form on a Monday morning, this one’s an infographic – yay!

“When it comes to URL structure and SEO, there can be a lot of confusion and debate.”, so says the blog post’s author. Give yourself a chance, then, and take a look at some of these tips for strengthening your URLs and improving keyword usage.

Is your website working as hard for you as it could be? Here’s an insightful little piece from the folks over at Higher Visibility, which lets you in on why a relatively simple exercise like improving your site can work wonders for your small to medium-sized business.

Never has there been a better time to maintain it too, with users browsing the web from a host of different devices. Have you heard about Google’s Local Source tag? If not, this piece on the Search Engine Watch site should clear a few things up. Google’s newest component was launched just over a month ago – and if you’re not yet familiar with what it’s all about, make sure you check out the article above.

In short, “the Local Source tag highlights the original sources of local stories that have become national or international talking points.” In doing this, it directs traffic to smaller, regional publications that would otherwise be overshadowed by larger news outlets. Of course, what this means for us is that this new accessory has the potential to make a huge difference to the way we receive news – make sure you find out more.
