We are looking for an experienced Marketing Lead to join our paid media and creative agency, based in a beautiful Oxfordshire location.

This is not a conventional social media management role. You’ll take ownership of Evergreen’s social media presence and content distribution, combining organic growth, paid amplification, targeted outreach and email marketing to build our authority with established home and garden brands.

You’ll work directly with our Managing Director, alongside an established creative team producing podcasts, flagship videos, industry reports and other specialist content. Your job is to make sure that content reaches the right people, grows our audience and contributes to meaningful commercial opportunities.

We’re looking for someone who can think strategically, take ownership and make things happen independently, not someone who needs a task list.

Key responsibilities:

Day-to-day activity will vary, but your core responsibilities will include:

  • Own and grow Evergreen’s organic social presence across YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, with channel-specific strategies, publishing and optimisation.
  • Own our content library, social calendar, scheduling workflows and ongoing distribution, ensuring consistent quality and effective repurposing.
  • Plan and manage Evergreen’s own paid social and video amplification across Meta and Google/YouTube, including budgets, testing, targeting and performance reviews.
  • Develop platform-specific launch and distribution plans for flagship videos, podcast episodes, industry reports, creative playbooks and the Evergreen Hub.
  • Analyse audience response and content performance to recommend stronger topics, hooks, titles, thumbnails, formats, edits and repurposing opportunities to the Managing Director and creative team.
  • Track relevant audience growth, engagement quality, website behaviour, qualified enquiries and contribution to pipeline; distinguish vanity metrics from genuine commercial progress.
  • Own a structured social and content testing roadmap, providing concise weekly updates and monthly recommendations on what to stop, improve and scale.
  • Coordinate with our creative and paid media teams while retaining clear ownership of deadlines, priorities and outcomes.
  • Lead targeted, personalised outreach for major content launches: segment our CRM by sector and relevance, identify decision-makers, and share useful resources through carefully tailored email, LinkedIn messages and appropriate Instagram DMs.
  • Manage small, considered outreach batches and sensible follow-ups; maintain accurate CRM records, respect contact preferences and applicable UK data protection and direct marketing requirements, and measure meaningful replies, conversations and qualified opportunities rather than send volume.
  • Own Evergreen’s regular email newsletter through ActiveCampaign, including editorial planning, copywriting, content selection, scheduling and performance optimisation.
  • Segment newsletter audiences by home and garden sector, interests and commercial relevance; tailor content to each audience and grow an engaged, permission-based subscriber list.

Who we are:

The Evergreen Agency is a specialist paid media and creative agency helping home and garden brands grow. Since 2013, we have combined commercial thinking with paid search, paid social and creative expertise. We produce the Grow with Evergreen podcast, industry reports and educational resources for the sector.

Our office is a beautifully converted old schoolhouse between Bicester and Buckingham. We value working together in person and currently offer two days in the office and three days working from home.

About you:

You are a commercially minded marketing and content specialist who knows how to grow the right audience, not just publish posts. You are analytical, organised, proactive and confident enough to challenge assumptions.

  • Approximately 5+ years’ relevant experience in social media and content marketing, with evidence of independently owning channels and delivering measurable audience growth.
  • Strong hands-on experience growing audiences on YouTube and major social platforms, including content packaging, titles, thumbnails, audience retention, Shorts, long-form video distribution and channel analytics.
  • Strong understanding of paid content amplification across Meta and Google/YouTube, with experience managing campaigns, budgets and performance. You don’t need to be a technical paid media specialist, but you must understand how paid distribution supports organic content growth.
  • Ability to interpret GA4, platform analytics and conversion data, and communicate what the evidence does and does not show.
  • Excellent copywriting, editorial judgement and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate content strategy into a dependable social media operation, make independent decisions and improve results without constant supervision.
  • Experience with B2B, founder-led brands, professional services or agency marketing is advantageous.
  • Confidence collaborating with senior stakeholders and creative specialists; you do not need to be a video editor or designer.
  • Experience using a CRM to segment contacts and deliver thoughtful one-to-one B2B outreach by email and LinkedIn, with excellent written judgement and an understanding of consent, opt-outs and platform rules.
  • Experience managing B2B email newsletters, audience segmentation and automation in ActiveCampaign or a comparable platform, with strong editorial judgement and knowledge of deliverability and email compliance.
  • A proven track record of growing a relevant audience or brand through content, with specific examples of the strategies you implemented, the decisions you made and the results you achieved.

What success looks like

Within your first three months, you’ll have taken ownership of Evergreen’s social media and content distribution operation, established a clear testing and reporting framework, and built a consistent process for organic publishing, paid amplification, targeted outreach and our sector-specific email newsletter.

You’ll be making independent decisions, identifying opportunities to improve performance and freeing our Managing Director from day-to-day marketing management.

Over time, success will be measured by growth in relevant audiences, stronger engagement with our content, more meaningful conversations with prospective clients and a measurable contribution to qualified commercial opportunities.

Perks & benefits:

  • Work with the European Paid Media Agency of the Year 2025.
  • Stunning Oxfordshire countryside office in a converted old schoolhouse.
  • 23 days’ holiday, birthday off and additional holiday for tenure.
  • Regular team socials, clear career growth paths and learning resources.
  • Free snacks, drinks and nearby parking; company pension contributions.

If you’re ready to take ownership of social media and content growth for an ambitious specialist agency, we’d love to hear from you.

When applying, please include an example of a social media channel, content programme or brand audience you’ve personally helped grow, outlining your approach and the results you achieved. Apply today!
