Bed Kingdom: £50M built from a £400 university project

Bed Kingdom started life in 2011 as a £400 university project.

Today the group behind Bed Kingdom runs eight brands, employs teams in the UK, China and the Philippines, and is targeting £50 million in turnover on the way to £100 million within three years.

Ashley Hainsworth joins Aaron and Darren to talk about what an AI first business actually looks like when it goes past the marketing department. Ashley has woven AI into all six departments of the group, from buying and forecasting to customer service and accounting, and he has done it without cutting a single role. His line on it is simple. AI is the tool, but the human is the trigger.

This one gets into the future of search too. Ashley believes the traditional Google search box will not exist in two to four years, and he is already seeing dozens of orders a day arrive through ChatGPT.
