St Eval: £10m candle brand on why polished creative stopped working

St Eval has been making candles in Cornwall for 30 years. It now turns over more than £10 million, employs around 70 people, and still finishes almost every candle by hand.

Fox joins Aaron and Darren to talk about what it actually takes to grow a brand like that without hollowing it out. Neil spent 11 years as Creative and Marketing Director at Pukka Herbs, where he helped take the business to £100 million and built ecommerce from nothing to a fifth of global turnover. He is now fractional CMO at St Eval and CEO of Artichoke.

This one turns into a proper conversation about AI in creative work, why the most polished asset in the feed is now the one people scroll past, and why the brands with real stories are the ones that will still be standing in five years.
