Do you love stories? I know I do!

Whether it’s reading a story, watching a story, or telling a story.

I believe as humans, we’re hard-coded to love stories.

Stories are how we relate, they are how we rationalise, and often how we reason.

Not meaning to get all woo-woo on you, but we’re all writing our own stories every day.

I’ve always wanted to tell the story of the work we do, but never really been able to.

That was until early last year when we built a creative team.

I love telling stories and so does my Head of Creative, Darren.

A year or so ago, we were sat in the office, working late, discussing our case studies.

We wanted to improve them and showcase the various home and garden brands we were working with and the great results we were achieving.

Historically, I’d always written up our agency case studies, using a standard format:

What was their pain point?

What did we do?

What was the result?

This did the job, but it just felt a bit boring.

Great results, but no one cared, as our case studies looked like every other agency’s.

We must be better!

Darren and I started chucking around ideas.

Stories! “Why don’t we tell their story?” one of us chimed.

Several minutes of excitement later, we had quickly concluded:

If we kept a record of everything we did for our clients.

If we recorded the calls, the meetings, the catch ups.

If we noted down the key milestones and results.

If we made a point of getting the client heavily involved.

If we did this consistently over many months.

We’d be able to tell an incredible story.

We definitely under-estimated just how much work it would be, but alas a year or so later, we have just published the first of these client stories.

We’ve got many more stories in-progress and are planning to publish these in a regular fashion moving forward.

So, what is the first story about?

Well, it’s the story of Aqua Warehouse, one of several hot tub brands we work with across the UK.

From a simple conversation more than a year ago, I’m delighted to share our first Story with you this week.
