This morning I shared a post on LinkedIn, and it prompted me to rewrite today’s T.E.A Break newsletter.
As business owners, we put our heart and soul into our little enterprises.
We take risks, and seemingly welcome stress with open arms.
We prioritise others and often go without to ensure we can reinvest in building something beyond just ourselves.
As I was getting dressed this morning, I threw on my Evergreen branded fleece and jumped in the car.
I arrived at work and took a moment to savour the sunshine glaring down on me.
I glanced towards my reflection in the car window and saw my business logo looking back at me in the sunshine.
It’s funny, because such a small thing represents so much.
This little logo represents so much pain, stress and worry over the years.
While at the same time, it represents some of the best times in my life.
This little logo has played such a pivotal part of my adult life.
For 12 years, I’ve worked for and strived to make this little logo mean something.
This little logo has kept me up so many nights unable to sleep.
And yet…
This little logo is becoming synonymous with the home, garden and lifestyle sector.
This little logo is attracting so many great talented people to us.
This little logo is pulling many prospects towards us.
This little logo represents a very exciting brand.
This little logo is far more than a logo and I’m so proud to wear it on my chest.
When I look at this logo today, I see just how far we’ve come.
When I look at this little logo I’m reminded that all of the pain and struggle was 100% worth it.
Building something great that is bootstrapped is hard, really hard.
It takes years of hard graft to create something meaningful.
Today this little logo represents the business I’ve been trying to build for the past 12 years.
This little logo means more to me than most will ever know.
I’m sure your logo provokes similar memories for you too.
It’s worth taking a moment (ideally in the sun if you can) and looking around at what you’ve built.
The story behind your logo is something to be so proud of, so wear it with pride.
That’s what I’m doing again today and here is a picture to prove the point. This is me, taking a quick selfie while writing this T.E.A Break newsletter to you this morning.
