The past 12 to 18 months have marked the most transformative period in The Evergreen Agency’s 13-year journey. With more progress in one year than in the previous twelve, the team has embraced significant changes, creative innovation, and rapid growth. Here’s a look back at everything that has shaped this milestone year.

A Year of Big Changes

Recognised the need to evolve and make substantial changes to thrive, not just survive.

  • Marked two personal milestones: both Aaron and Harriet turning 40.
  • Decided to invest more heavily in creative, bringing in new creative expertise.
  • Created a dedicated creative department and doubled down on paid and digital strategy.
  • Committed fully to serving only home and garden brands, moving away from a broader client base.
  • Launched ‘Tea Talks’, now at over 70 episodes and still going strong.

Content Innovation and Openness

  • Introduced ‘Uncut’ as a behind-the-scenes video series, sharing both successes and tough moments in agency life.
  • Maintained a transparent, raw approach, showing real agency challenges and turnarounds.
  • Entered and attended awards events, including the European Search Awards and Paid Media Awards, gaining new experiences as a team.

Creativity at the Core

  • Produced the first summer ad, which became a creative highlight for the agency.
  • Welcomed Archie to the team, initially supporting in various roles before becoming a key creative member.
  • Expanded content output rapidly, including new types of video and on-stage events.
  • Launched the ‘Grow with Evergreen’ podcast, adding further value for home, garden, and lifestyle brands.

Rapid Team Growth

  • Added several new members to support the agency’s growing needs, including Stacey, Ginny, Matt, Lu, Lydia, Sam, and Zain.
  • Welcomed Abi, who initially joined for a temporary campaign and became a permanent team member.
  • Continued to recruit for new roles, including Head of Email Marketing and additional graphic design expertise, to meet growing client demand.

Physical and Digital Campaigns

  • Increased travel and in-person events, visiting clients and attending expos across the UK and Europe.
  • Launched the agency’s largest ever direct mail campaign, sending branded mugs, coasters, and tea to prospective clients as a way to spark meaningful conversations.
  • Continued to prioritise building real relationships with brands, focusing on long-term value over short-term sales.

Expanding Creative Services

  • Introduced ‘brand films’, longer-form video content that showcases a client’s story, values, and results.
  • Offered more print and design support, ensuring clients’ offline and online touchpoints remain consistent.
  • Delivered end-to-end brand experiences, from digital ads to physical signage and event collateral.

Home & Garden Stories

  • Started capturing and documenting client journeys through ‘Home & Garden Stories,’ showcasing the real work, the team’s process, and the impact delivered.
  • Shifted to long-term storytelling, recording content with no immediate use in mind, then weaving it into client stories as projects mature.

A Fast-Paced, Fun Agency Culture

  • Embraced a culture of learning, experimentation, and rapid iteration.
  • Prioritised having fun and keeping work enjoyable, both for the team and for clients.
  • Recognised that it took twelve years to perfect the model and build the right team, but once the formula was right, growth accelerated.

Looking Ahead

  • Recruiting for key roles to support ongoing growth, especially in email marketing and graphic design.
  • Expanding office space to accommodate a larger team.
  • Continuing to push the boundaries of creativity and results for home and garden brands.

In Summary:

The last 18 months have been the most exciting and fast-paced in The Evergreen Agency’s history. The team has grown, services have expanded, and the focus on creativity and client relationships has never been stronger. As the agency looks to the future, the journey is only just beginning.
