No, we’re not running a ‘flash sale’ if that is what you’re wondering.
This week, I want to share a little creative project with you that we decided to create just for the fun of it.
One of the best things about having a room full of creative brains is that it’s like an ideas factory in our office.
Our clients reap the rewards of this creativity most of the time, but just occasionally, we like to carve out a little creativity for ourselves.
We did just that very recently, when we created FlashAds.
What is it?
Well, do you remember Flashdance, the 80s movie?
In that movie trailer, there is a famous line “she works in a man’s world”.
Well, the same sentiment is true about paid media.
More than 2/3 of leaders in paid search are men, it’s very rare to have a female leader in this space.
Fortunately for us, we’ve got one of the best paid search leaders in our Lu.
When Darren (Head of Creative) and I were out driving to a client, we got talking about creative ways to showcase our expertise.
Queue a crazy idea…
I sent Lu a voice note: “Any chance you’d be up for recreating the Flashdance trailer as a funny little parody Lu?”
The reply quickly came back from Lu: “Sure, I’ll get my leg warmers,”
In one afternoon, Darren, Lu and Matt put together this masterpiece, and it’s hilarious.
I was blown away when I saw the final cut.
Sometimes, you’ve just got to create something because you can.
Our team are such good sports, they are true experts at what they do, but they are also people with a sense of humour who love what they do.
