Can we onboard 3 clients in 3 weeks?
It’s been an exciting time at The Evergreen Agency.
At the beginning of July, we won not one but two new clients. But this represents a significant challenge for us.
Typically, we onboard one new client at the start of each calendar month. This process involves a lot of groundwork over the first four to five weeks—auditing accounts, crafting creative strategies, and getting the client up to speed. This thorough preparation ensures that by the second month, we are well-positioned to grow their business.
This month, however, we now have two new clients to onboard.
Meet our new clients
The first is a home interiors brand eager to scale online, which will be heavily focused on e-commerce.
The second is a local hot tub business right around the corner from us. You might have seen their ads before this blog goes live. They reached out to us for help with their marketing. So, we have two very different brands—one focusing on e-commerce and the other on lead generation.
Behind the scenes: our onboarding process
For this episode of Uncut, we thought it would be interesting to take you behind the scenes. We’ll show you what we do, how we do it, the processes we go through, and the conversations we have. You’ll get a real-life glimpse into what the first few weeks of onboarding a new client look like.
Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of our onboarding process:
1. Tracking: This is always our starting point because, frankly, it can be a nightmare. Many brands we work with are confused about GA4 setup and Google Ads conversion tracking. The data discrepancies between Google, Meta, and their own systems can be baffling. So, we begin by sorting out the tracking.
2. Commercials: Before diving into the nitty-gritty of Google Ads, Meta ads, and creative work, it’s crucial to nail down the commercial plan. We need to understand where a business was, where it is now, and what success looks like. Just as you wouldn’t start a car journey without a destination, we shouldn’t launch ad campaigns without a clear roadmap for success.
3. Audits: This is where the fun begins. We delve into all the paid media accounts—Google Ads, Meta ads, and more. We analyse what’s working, what’s not, and where the opportunities lie. Our team excels in this area, adding massive value by identifying quick wins.
4. Quick wins: While digital marketing is a long-term strategy, we always look for immediate improvements that can make a positive impact from the outset. This not only helps our clients see early results but also sets a solid foundation for long-term success.
5. Campaign build: Our team creates perfectly optimised, well-planned, and structured campaigns aligned with the client’s commercial goals. Whether it’s on Google, Bing, YouTube, or Meta, our campaigns are designed to deliver results.
6. Creative Development: This stage involves a blend of the client’s vision and our paid media team’s insights. Together, we craft compelling creatives that resonate with the right audience at the right time. Our creative team brings these ideas to life, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
7. Launch: After all the preparation, we’re ready to launch the campaigns. All of this happens within the first month of working with us.
So, that’s how we typically onboard one client. But in July, we had a bigger challenge. Could we handle onboarding two clients simultaneously? I believe so; the team was up for it, even if it means convincing them that we can pull this off.
And then there were three
But wait, there’s more. Just as I was wrapping up, I received another call. We’ve won a third client who wants to start in July. How will the team react?
It’s not every day that we onboard three clients at once, but hey, everyone wants to work with Evergreen right now and the team took it ok!.
The final push
By the end of July, we did it. We successfully onboarded all three clients. It was a lot of work, and the team had to put in extra hours, but we got it done. The creatives were ready, paid media campaigns were set up, and some are already live.
It was an incredibly busy month, and we’re expecting more of the same as momentum continues to build.
Looking ahead
We’re excited about the future and ready for more challenges. The past few weeks have shown us that we can achieve great things when we push our limits. Here’s to more growth and success in the coming months!
