Do you ever feel like all you do is work?

That’s me at the moment. I am working so many hours, I basically don’t have a life outside of work.

There are a few reasons for this.

We’ve got some team changes underway (1-2 people leaving and new people coming in).

We’ve won a flurry of new clients.

We’re in the middle of the conference season with me doing several speaking gigs.

We agreed to lots of engagements and don’t like to let anyone down.

We like to travel to physically meet prospective clients.

We make it a priority to get face time with our existing clients.

Combined it makes my diary rammed and my head hurt.

Would I change any of it though? Absolutely not, as it’s all good, positive stuff.

It’s all progress and momentum, which as we all know is so important in business.

Ideally I’d love another couple pairs of hands right now to help with everything (or the option to duplicate myself).

With no immediate solution, I’ve had no option but to put in a shift.

Evenings, weekends, long 12+ hour days.

It’s the best solution right now.

Short term pain for long term gain, as they say.

Building a business is tough. Really tough.

It’s why so many people chuck in the towel and so this week for our T.E.A Break I wanted to say that if this is you as well, then I’m with you.

So long as you’ve got a plan and know where you’re headed, then it’s fine that sometimes the only option is putting in a shift.

We do it because we love it.

We do it because we’re a little mad.

We do it because we’re the strange ones who enjoy the thrill of the chase.

So to all of you putting in a shift right now, I salute you. We’re in this together!

The good news is, it’s only 69 days until Christmas.
